Amazon Prime Video App W10

Amazon Prime Video already has its own application for Windows 10

Amazon Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming platform, is launching its own desktop application for Windows 10 users. This means that users of this platform will be able to enjoy features similar to those they already enjoy through mobile applications, taking into account the existing limitations when it comes to enjoying its service, like any other streaming platform, through any desktop web browser.

As they point out in XDA Developers, it is a UWP application (Universal Windows Platform) that offers a standard operation, with the corresponding shelves of films and series, in addition to a sidebar with a series of options, among which is the possibility of making downloads for viewing without connection, ideal for those who download content to enjoy on their travels using their desktop computers.

At the moment it is impossible to download it from the Microsoft Store in Spain, although in other markets it only allows it, although it offers an error message when logging in. In addition, there are different reports that suggest that this new application will integrate live programming of different television channels 24/7, competing with options like YouTube TV and Sling TV.

This is also reflected in the description itself, which indicates that users will be able to access the channels premium to those who are subscribed, there are more than 150 channels premium and specials to choose from, being able to cancel any subscription at any time, although we suppose that there may be variations of channels in different markets.

It also has access to the content rented or purchased on the platform, and even through the X-Ray function It will be possible to know different aspects that appear in the scenes, such as actors, musical themes, among other elements.

In the existing captures it is also implied that users can choose the viewing quality, depending on availability, between HDR and UHD, enabling adaptation to different types of screens.

Amazon Prime Video joins the desktop with a dedicated application in the same way that other platforms did at the time, such as the well-known Netflix.
