Botize – Program bots and install Plugins for your Twitter account

Blog

Juan Salvador introduces me to botize, an application that allows us to create bots on Twitter with some ease, generating automatic responses when a certain action is detected.

The ability to generate spam is quite controlled, such as tweeting against the public timeline or posting hashtags, so the intention is not to generate junk content and to offer services of general interest.

The purpose of Botize is to create services for users and companies by eliminating the access barriers that programming the Twitter API supposes, something that is currently only available to programmers.

To meet this objective, Botize has a control panel where you can define your tweets, responses to hashtags, configure the bot to tweet periodically, only respond to mentions, etc.

We can also install plugins on twitter accountsTo, for example, return information about the weather in a city, translate tweets, or return the telephone number of restaurants. Installing the plugins is simple, we just have to look for the plugin that interests us and install it with one click.

At the moment all the service and plugins are free. Now it’s time to provide twitter with an interesting number of plugins, for which the collaboration of programmers who want to participate in the development of these pieces will be essential.

I leave you some bots created with Botize:

@telefonode: Write @telefonode + name of a Japanese restaurant to retrieve the data from the Guide to eating Japanese [email protected]: generate random phrases and talk to users @ meteoesporles: Publish every hour the weather in Esporles (Mallorca ) taking data from a weather station @ 2qr: Generate the QR code of the tweet sent by users @ translate me: translate tweets between more than 50 languages using Google Translator

There are currently 92 bots created in Botize of which about half are working.

Here you can see the presentation video, in Spanish.
