Chrome 87 is already in its beta phase, so we can already know some of the features that are being tested. While the recent version of Google’s web browser brought many improvements, we can still expect much more from its next versions.
For example, in the beta you can already see a new PDF viewer with interesting improvements and new options focused on security.
As mentioned by AP, this new PDF viewer adds new elements that make it easier to navigate the document from the browser. For example, a new option is added to switch between a normal view of the PDF or to open a sidebar that allows you to scroll through all the pages of the file without leaving the current position.
An easy way to preview the document and jump to the page that interests us with a simple click. And as a plus, it also allows you to choose the mode of two pages, one next to the other. On the other hand, the floating buttons of the viewfinder disappear, and the options (zoom and adjust) are added in the top menu. So they will always be visible on the screen, regardless of whether you move the mouse pointer or not.
If you want to take a look at this new dynamic without installing the Chrome 87 beta, you can activate the PDF Viewer Update experiential function within the flags of the current version of Google Chrome. See that it does not work, but it gives you a preview of some of the changes we mentioned earlier.
We will have to wait to see if this new PDF viewer will be included in the next updates of Google Chrome.
