Spotify is the queen application as far as the reproduction of music goes streaming, which we already have very clear, mainly because it is the most used in the world with a total of 345 million clients.
Although the service has a high quality option for Premium customers, where it allows the reproduction of music at 320 kbps, there is also an option activated by default that affects when it comes to having the best possible audio quality, we talk about the function of Normalize the volume.
This turns out to be a feature that even Spotify recommends turning off if you’re looking for the best possible audio quality. However, it should be taken into account that when it comes to talking about streaming services, if the internet connection is not very good, that quality will be affected.
Regarding the function of normalizing the volume, we are talking about a tool that theoretically helps us to adjust the level of the tracks so that they all sound relatively the same. This sounds pretty good at first, as it saves you the task of turning the volume up and down with different songs by doing it automatically.
And precisely because of this, the excellence that we seek in terms of sound quality will not be possible to achieve, and that is because many artists and producers record their tracks at a higher or lower volume (usually they increase it) for specific reasons.
Now, if you are already very clear that this is not what you want for you or for you experience when listening to music on Spotify, you will have to proceed to deactivate the function of normalizing the volume, and this can be done on both mobile phones and computers. The procedure to follow on smartphones is as follows:
– Enter the Spotify app and go to Settings, which is achieved by clicking on the gear icon located in the upper right.
– Find the Playback tab and turn off the Enable audio normalization function.
If you usually play content from your PC, you should do the following:
– Enter the Spotify site and enter the Preferences option of the application.
– Then find the Music Quality section and deactivate the Stabilize volume lever: Equalize the volume of all songs.
Once this process is finished, it is just a matter of tuning in some music and noticing the changes that your music already be sounding much better in terms of its sound quality.
