We have already spoken on more than one occasion about Kodi, formerly known as XMBC, a great free and multiplatform media player, which this week reaches the final version 15.0 on several of the platforms on which it is present, both on the desktop and on mobile. According to its release, this new version covers many of the features requested both more than 5 years ago and less than 5 months ago.
Regarding the version for Android devices, Kodi has specific features, such as support for videos at 4K resolution, refresh rate switching, as well as support for playing HEVC files. Of course, these features are focused on devices that support these features, including a number of Amlogic-based devices and NVIDIA Shield Android TV devices.
Already for all the platforms in which it has been updated, Kodi 15.0 has a new window for selecting chapters, a new adaptive search engine based on the times that a button is pressed to search in a period of time, the possibility of searching subtitles and audio files through lists instead of a roulette, improvements in its add-ons manager, and many other new features.
Users can go to their download page to download the latest version for those platforms where we want to have it.
