Pinterest hires Susan Kare, former Apple designer

Surely many of you may have heard of Susan Kare, the graphic designer responsible for the icons on the original Macintosh. Recently, as we have been able to read on TechCrunch, Pinterest has decided to hire Susan Kare as chief designer of the popular social network.

Given the talent and experience of a figure of Susan Kare's importance, on Pinterest they consider that her qualities could be of great help to improve the appearance of the social network. At 61 years old, Susan will work on improving the Pinterest interface and icons, both for the web version and the applications for mobile devices.. Responsible for mythical icons such as those you can see in the image above and fonts of the original Macintosh like Chicago (which even became available on the first iPod models), Kare will be in charge of Bob Baxley, head of product design and also a former Apple worker. After working at Apple, the designer founded Susan Kare Design, her own design studio where she was responsible for bringing thousands of icons to life for a large number of different clients.

Definitely, it's a pretty interesting move on Pinterest. For now, we will have to wait to see the first results of his work.
