We have already spoken to you on several occasions about LastPass, the popular password manager. Now, the company responsible for its development has announced that Mac users can enjoy LastPass as a standalone application for Mac, so they will not have to access the service through the browser.
Of course, the application for OS X includes all the features available in the web version of the service, although it also has additional functions that make LastPass an option to take into account. For example, Thanks to the Quick Search function it is possible to access all our passwords using a keyboard shortcut on our Mac that will open a search box to facilitate access to the desired information. In addition, we can check the security of our passwords at any time in a very visual way, as well as obtain personalized suggestions to modify it in case it is not as secure as it should be. LastPass for Mac also offers the possibility of consulting all our information without an Internet connection, since the data will be stored on our computer. In the case of making a change, it will be synchronized on the LastPass servers the next time we get back online.
You can download the application for free through the App Store.
