Rstat.us – new open and distributed microblogging network

Rstat.us is the response of a group of Twitter application developers who have seen right off the bat how Twitter is going to limit the use of its API. It’s about a simple microblogging service, open source and distributed, which incorporates a series of basic functions, such as sharing states (let’s call it that) or responding to them, in addition to having support for mentions and hashtags. We can be followers and be followed, but we can also follow available users from the same server but also follow users of the Identi.ca microblogging network, through its Atom syndication channel. And that is another, Rstat.us does not support RSS feeds but Atom does, so the profile of each one will have this syndication channel. All the statements that we publish, of up to 140 characters, we can replicate them through our Twitter and Facebook accounts, and we can create our accounts through these platforms or under the traditional method. For now it does not allow us anything else, nor its customization. Let’s hope that improvements will come out of this service and that it will teach Twitter like any other large internet platform so that popularity does not go to their heads. Goes
