YouTube Shorts

This is YouTube Shorts, the YouTube alternative to TikTok

TikTok is the fashionable social network, a platform for short videos generated by users through their mobile devices, currently having more than 500 million users worldwide, and very well known especially among younger users, one of the the reasons why some technology companies are interested in taking over the United States share of the business.

But from Google they have chosen, like Facebook Inc. with Instagram, to launch a specific function within the YouTube application. As we have already mentioned months ago, YouTube is testing this short video function within its application with a small group of users.

Now they are taking another step forward with their official launch, in beta phase, in India, precisely the same market in which a few months ago TikTok was banned along with 58 other applications due to its link with China, under the name of YouTube Shorts.

Your creative functions will increase over time

Users will be able to create videos of up to 15 seconds in length (TikTok allows to alternate between 15 seconds and 60 seconds), being able to integrate multiple takes or clips in each video, being able to record them directly or even import from mobile storage (there are users who also They use other apps that allow making videos, taking advantage of their effects, such as Snapchat or Zoomerang, and then import them into TikTok), and accompanied by musical themes obtained from their own library, which are constantly growing.

They will also have time control tools and a timer to help them start with the recordings. YouTube promises to extend YouTube Shorts by adding more creative features and taking it to more countries in the coming months.

In favor of YouTube Shorts is the fact that it is under the YouTube umbrella, with a community made up of more than 2,000 million users worldwide, and that it facilitates access to the creations published with Shorts through a section on the home page dedicated to short videos, in addition to other places in the mobile application on Android, although later it will also come to iOS.

What we do not know is whether to change the jargon of the habitual users of social networks again, adding making Shorts to doing TikToks, tweeting, etc., although it will depend on it if it has a sufficient level of adoption to become a popular option, perhaps the option to start in India, despite existing local alternatives, do not be accidental.
