WhatsApp for iOS receives update with new and interesting features

Over the last few hours, the WhatsApp team has released an update to its iOS application in which it incorporates a series of new and interesting features.

If we focus on the main improvements of this new update, from now on WhatsApp for iOS users will be able to include the videos of the application in their backups, something that was not possible until now. In addition, updating improves the management of our messages. Once installed we will be able to browse all the messages received so far in a specific chat in a much faster way, since the previous messages will be loaded automatically instead of having to press a button for it. Version 2.12.5 of WhatsApp for iOS also allows you to mark a chat as read or unread, something that will be very useful for many of the regular users of the app. To do this, simply swipe the conversation from left to right on the chat screen.

The news does not end here, since updating also allows us to customize notifications and mute individual chats. In addition, we can reduce the consumption of our data rate when we use the app to make calls. To do this, just configure the new option in Settings> Chats and calls. The WhatsApp team has also improved the process for cropping photos and videos, and the visual appearance of messages containing a location has been modified. Specifically, the map thumbnail will be larger. Finally, we can already share the location from Apple Maps or our contacts from the Contacts application and VoiceOver support has been improved.

At the moment, the new features that we are talking about are only available in their version for iOS. We will remain vigilant in case they reach Android users. You can download the update for free through the App Store.
